I am Ren (pronounced R-en). My pronouns are they/them.
I’m a self made patchwork of identities and experiences - much like the blankets I love to make, I am full of colour and texture!
I am a fat, queer, neurodivergent, deep thinking, lover of stories, inclusion championing and well travelled side-quester.
My personal journey has taken me on many adventures. I have lived on both sides of the Atlantic. I am currently on the British side of the big puddle, but I still miss the years I got to play in the snow in Nova Scotia!
On this side of the Atlantic, I enjoy going on adventures with my muppet of a dog, playing board games, and getting lost in the wonderful world of podcasts and audiobooks.
I have home educated my (now not so) wee folk all the way through to A-levels. I was an active member of the home ed communities, creating shared learning spaces and facilitating multi generational philosophy inquiry groups.
I have worked as a mentor, facilitator, educator, advocate and inclusion specialist. Community building is something I am passionate about. Finding the people and logical family (thank you Armistead Maupin for giving me the perfect language) I needed gave me the confidence in being me.
As well as coaching I work for a therapy service who provide support to people affected by addiction; I am the volunteer coordinator for Trans Pride Bristol and I am active in creating meaningful safe spaces for queer young people.
